8 Shot journey Evaluation

8 Shot Evaluation
We had a week to plan and shoot our short journey; I found it fun as we had to find the perfect location and get a good shots. I am going to evaluate each of the 8 shots that I done.
Shot one I did a long shot off my actor (Alex Palmer) standing on stairs, I did this so you can get hold of where he is and she the movement he makes.(checks watch and looks at phone) this is to give impression that his waiting for someone or waiting for a call. I believe this worked really well.
Shot 2 was a BCU of the phone this was to give tension to the shot, this made you wonder who was calling and why. This works well as you think your looking over his shoulder, spying like.
Shot 3 I did a MCU to get the facial expression of his face to tell the story as it’s a silent film, so its says many things. He look very mysterious and crafty, which is what I was trying to achieve.
Shot 4 I did a MLS, LS and a VLS as I did Alex walking away from the camera. I had Alex looking over his shoulder to continue the craftiness through the journey I did take a few times to take this as too many people were walking through.
Shot 5 I did a LS of Alex walking across screen, checking around him I liked this shot as it had a nice background of (graffiti Wall) this went in well with my theme.
Shot 6 this was a moving shot, Alex moving towards the camera still had him checking around, shrugging on his jacket to make the action seem more effective. I liked this shot as the surroundings got lighter and more space made him seem as he got away from what he was doing.
Shot 7 CU of key going in to the door of the car, getting in then shutting. This scene is good as now he has mad it to where he was going safely.
Shot 8 LS of the car reversing this shows the end of the journey but leaves It open as the story could go on in the car.
Overall I think it went really well and was happy with the out come. Next time I think I would like to use more adventurous shots.
